Significant works are underway to transform a 660-acre former quarry in Ebbsfleet into a thriving mixed-use community. The development includes a Morrisons supermarket, a gym, a nursery, a neighbourhood green, and 83 affordable homes—part of the 6,250 homes planned across the entire site.
At the heart of this transformation is the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of seven adoptable pumping stations, strategically located throughout the site. A terminal pumping station has been designed to handle the 24 million litres of water being pumped from the site every day.
This achievement is the result of meticulous planning and close collaboration with the landowner, consulting engineers, the water authority, and the main contractor. Over four years of preparation took place before any construction began, ensuring all eight pumping stations were delivered smoothly and on schedule.
The delivery of the adoptable pumping stations at Ebbsfleet is a strong example of how essential infrastructure can be seamlessly integrated into a major development. Early-stage consultations and clear communication have helped keep the project hassle-free so far.
And we’re not done yet—two more adoptable pumping stations are still to come, with final completion expected in 2027. We're excited to see this landmark project through to a successful finish.
